SoftBank principal Masayoshi Son is likely to visit India this coming week, which will be his  demoiselle visit to the country post 2018, reported Moneycontrol. The authors of SoftBank portfolio have been asked to remain present for a meeting with Son in Delhi. “This will also be one of his first foreign visits after Covid. He’ll be maintaining Covid protocols and presumably be in a bio-bubble. It’s anticipated to be a veritably short visit,” Moneycontrol quoted sources as saying.

Son could meet government officers and other SoftBank portfolio authors and CEOs during his visit to New Delhi. Japanese empire Softbank’s arm SVF Doorbell (Cayman) lately divested 3.8 percent of its stake in force chain company Delhivery for Rs 954 crore through open  request deals. The company also has investments in Indian companies  similar as Paytm, PolicyBazaar, Delhivery, Swiggy, Meesho, OYO, FirstCry, OfBusiness and Unacademy, among others. In total, around $ 15 billion has been invested so far in Indian companies. People familiar with the development told Moneycontrol that Son will maintain all Covid-19 protocols  rigorously and will  probably be in a bio-bubble. Neither, the investment Napoleon will also meet numerous of the cofounders for the first time, as a good  knob of investments took place post-2019, sources privy to the development said. Son is said to have asked for Covid-negative test results from all persons he’s meeting, added a source.

The tech billionaire’s visit to India coincides with the marriage of Ritesh Agarwal, the cofounder and CEO of one of SoftBank’s portfolio companies, OYO, on March 7. While some reports say that Son will  probably give the event a miss and will meet Agarwal in the after leg of his visit, other reports say that Son will indeed hail the couple but in anon-public setting later.   “While Masa may not attend Oyo author Ritesh Agarwal’s marriage event on March 7, he might want to take the  occasion and hail him  tête-à-tête latterly during the visit It’s anticipated to be a  veritably short visit,” said a person familiar with the development.
