Indian cricketer Mayank Agarwal, the captain of the Karnataka Ranji Trophy team, recently experienced a major health scare while on a New Delhi-bound flight. The incident unfolded on Tuesday when Agarwal fell ill, complaining of a throat issue. The situation prompted an emergency landing, diverting the flight to Agartala, where Agarwal was swiftly admitted to the ICU at ILS Hospital.
According to reports, Agarwal underwent tests after experiencing vomiting and discomfort during the flight. As a result, he will not be participating in the upcoming game against Saurashtra, with the rest of the team continuing their journey to Rajkot. Despite the alarming situation, it has been reassuringly stated that Mayank Agarwal is believed to be out of danger.
Shavir Tarapore, joint secretary of the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA), expressed the association’s concern and mentioned ongoing efforts to gather more information about the incident. PTI reported that Agarwal’s health issue arose after leading Karnataka to a 29-run victory against Tripura just a day before the unfortunate incident.

“He (Agarwal) is not in any kind of danger. He is under observation currently in a hospital at Agartala, and we will fly him back to Bengaluru once we get an update from the doctors, which we are expecting tonight,” assured a KSCA official, speaking on the condition of anonymity.
