ZingBus, an intercity mobility startup, is reportedly in the process of raising $12-15 million in a new funding round to expand into newer cities and ramp up its fleets. The round will be led by InfoEdge, which led the company’s pre-Series A round in July 2021. Other existing and new investors are also expected to participate. ZingBus claims to have established a network of more than 350 buses catering to over 500 cities, serving more than 3 million customers across 18 states in Northern, Western and Southern regions of India. The company competes with Yolobus, RailYatri’s IntrCity, redBus’ IntrCity SmartBus, and FreshBus in the intercity bus aggregating space.
Last month, the company tied up with the National Highways for Electric Vehicles (NHEV) for a joint e-mobility project. The project aims to help private diesel bus operators convert to accepting and working with electric vehicles as it expects the electric vehicles to be more profitable with a 15%-20% decrease in the running cost.
ZingBus recently collaborated with the National Highways for Electric Vehicles (NHEV) for a joint e-mobility project. This initiative aims to support private diesel bus operators in transitioning to electric vehicles, as the company expects EVs to be more cost-effective, with a 15%-20% reduction in running costs. By promoting the adoption of electric buses, the project aims to reduce the carbon footprint of intercity travel and contribute to a more sustainable future.
ZingBus competes with other intercity bus aggregators in India, such as Yolobus, RailYatri’s IntrCity and redBus’ IntrCity SmartBus, and FreshBus. These companies also provide end-to-end intercity travel services by aggregating fleets of buses from various private bus operators.
