Biden Family's Influence

In a recent op-ed published on Fox News, Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) of the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability discussed the committee’s investigation into the alleged influence peddling schemes involving the Biden family. Comer outlined their efforts to uncover the truth behind these allegations and address the concerns of national security and potential compromise of President Joe Biden.

According to Comer, the Oversight Committee has obtained thousands of pages of financial records related to the Biden family, tracing millions of dollars from China and Romania to the family and their associates. The committee aims to determine the nature of the Biden family’s business dealings and whether they involve the sale of influence and access.

Comer mentioned a whistleblower who provided information to Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) about an unclassified FBI record known as an FD-1023 form. This document reportedly contains conversations between a confidential human source and a foreign national who claimed to have bribed then-Vice President Biden in exchange for certain actions.

Comer and Grassley demanded that the FBI produce this unclassified record, and Comer even issued a subpoena to obtain it. He criticized FBI Director Christopher Wray for initially refusing to acknowledge the existence of the FD-1023 form and failing to produce it. After facing pressure, the FBI eventually allowed members of the House Oversight Committee to review the record and provided additional documents.

The chairman emphasized that the allegations in the record align closely with the financial records obtained by the committee, suggesting a pattern of using a network of limited liability companies and complex financial transactions to hide the source of money.

Comer addressed claims made by Democrats, stating that they are peddling conspiracy theories and downplaying the credibility of the FD-1023 record. He clarified that the record was generated by a trusted confidential source who had been working with the FBI for over ten years, and it stands on its own, not being part of the documents provided by Rudy Giuliani in January 2020.

Furthermore, Comer refuted the notion that the Department of Justice (DOJ) conducted a thorough investigation of the FD-1023 record in a short period. He highlighted that FBI officials and former Attorney General William Barr have stated that the investigation was not closed but rather sent to Delaware for further investigation.

Comer stressed the importance of following the facts, ensuring accountability, and addressing the concerns raised by the allegations. He expressed that the American people have lost trust in the FBI’s ability to enforce the law impartially and called for transparency and accountability.
