As preparations for Donald Trump’s arraignment take place, concerns are arising among his advisers regarding the pro-Trump protesters gathering outside the courthouse. The rally organized by Trump supporter Laura Loomer and promoted by longtime ally Roger Stone has raised alarm bells among those closest to the former president.

Advisers express worry that the event could turn into a disaster, with potential for violence and the presence of radical elements within the crowd. A confidant of Trump voiced concerns about the rally, stating that “all the things that are wrong with MAGA are going to show up,” referring to the extreme factions within the Make America Great Again movement.

Another Trump adviser questioned the necessity of the protest and expressed doubt about Loomer and Stone’s ability to assemble a responsible crowd, questioning the track record of their past ideas.

Loomer has encouraged supporters to bring pro-Trump merchandise and show their love for the former president at the Miami courthouse where the arraignment will take place. Although Loomer has urged peaceful protests, the events of the January 6 Capitol attack have raised legitimate concerns about the potential for violence. Some Republican lawmakers, including Rep. Clay Higgins and Rep. Andy Biggs, have made inflammatory remarks calling for supporters to prepare for conflict.

While most Republicans have dismissed these calls for violence, NBC News reports an increase in violent online rhetoric among Trump’s hardcore supporters, with specific targeting of Attorney General Merrick Garland’s family. However, Trump himself seemed supportive of the protests during a radio interview with Stone, emphasizing the need for peaceful demonstrations.

Despite Trump’s encouragement, his aides remain skeptical and concerned about the potential risks associated with the courthouse protest. The confidant cited alarming responses to Loomer’s Twitter post about the event as evidence of the worrisome nature of the gathering.

When contacted for comment, Trump spokesman Steven Cheung referred to President Trump’s comments on Roger Stone’s radio show, without offering additional information.

As the courthouse protest looms, concerns among Trump advisers continue to grow. The potential for violence and the presence of radical elements within the crowd raise serious apprehensions about the demonstration’s outcome.
